Practicing since 1991, Dr. John Mansell has been helping patients with pain and surgical outcomes for over 29 years.  


The active treatment of patients (private and military) combined with his educational background, led to innovations that would improve medical outcomes and the quality of life for patients.







About Us

EMPLOYMENT:
John Mansell began practicing medicine in 1991, in East Texas. He has practiced in Illinois and Wisconsin with a two-year sabbatical in Abu Dhabi, UAE (working with their government to modernize their military healthcare system) . He moved to Wyoming in 2011, to be closer to his wife’s family and the ski slopes.
He has had a parallel career in the U.S. Military, serving in the Army National Guard from 1988 to 2011, from which he retired with the rank of Colonel. He was deployed four times, Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Kosovo NATO Force, and Operation New Dawn.


TRAINING/EDUCATION:
Dr. Mansell completed his internship and residency in Anesthesiology in 1991 at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation, in New Orleans, LA. He devoted his final year to the study of Pain Management, at that time a relatively new course of study. His medical degree is from the University of South Alabama, and he holds an undergraduate degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
Dr. Mansell is licensed to practice medicine in Wyoming, Wisconsin, Alabama and Texas. He has a lifetime certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology issued in 1992 yet voluntarily recertified in 2002. He is additionally Board Certified by American Board of Anesthesiology in Pain Management from 1994-2024, sitting for the board every ten years as required. Additional Certification by the American Board of Pain Medicine was achieved in 2016.  He has also a certified as a Medical Review Officer.


SOCIETY MEMBERSHIPS AND OFFICES: 

Dr. Mansell is a member of the Regional Medical Advisory Board for The Doctors Company, is the current President of Wyoming Society of Anesthesiology, (2015-20), the Wyoming director for the Americal Sosiety of Anesthesiologists and a Trustee of the Wyoming Medical Society, (2014 – present).  He served as Chief of Surgery, Campbell County Memorial Hospital from 2014 – 2016, and is the incoming Chief of Staff. He also is member of the Medical Advisory Board for Immutrix Technologies, (2013 – present), and was a Board Member of Gillette Rotary Club, 2013 – 2020. Dr. Mansell received the Campbell County Healthcare Foundation Provider of the Year award in 2016.
